| Health Savvy Seniors |
The Public
Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) has identified "Seniors' Health" as a
health promotion priority.
The Canadian
Institute of Health Information (CIHI) reports that “…3 out of 4 Canadian
seniors [have] at least 1 of 11 chronic conditions.” Higher utilization of
healthcare and worse quality of life was reported amongst seniors with multiple
chronic conditions. Our initiative strives to empower Edmonton seniors to preserve/improve
their health.
Our goal is to
provide Edmonton seniors with knowledge and resources to understand/manage the
health issues that they face. We hope that this will enable Edmonton seniors to
make healthy choices and ideally prevent disease onset or disease progression
so as to improve the quality of their lives. ~ Dr. A
